Here via torino10154's journal...
I've emailed copperbadge over at LJ to let him know. It's good that you noticed this archive and brought it to people's attention. Thank you.

Yeah she either removed the work or admins did. Either way - smart move.
How YOU doin?
But, indeed! Smart move!
I'm having a rough week, pain-wise. I tell you, this injury is sure taking it's sweet time healing! *pouts* I can deal with the pain for the most part, but once it triggers a migraine, I'm pretty much hooped. It'll be a fun wee though, because my derby team is holding it's first public bout of the season, and I'm the PR lady, so lots of poster parties, media interviews and late night practice sessions because my band is playing as well! *phew* I just wish my body was keeping up! :D
How's you???? *hugs*
I have a few friends in Vancouver who follow the roller derby and they look like that have such fun. We really need a bridge to the mainland. Then I could come and see you guys!!!!!
Bridge - or transporter! indeed! Did I already tell you there's Derby on the Island? The Eves of Destruction. actually, one of the Vancouver teams, Faster Pussycats are playing them in Victoria this saturday. They're calling it the the big leBOUTski heh.
I want to skate for you! Maybe next season we'll come over there!
But I'd be there in a heartbeat!!!!
Ok, tell me more about this botox for migraines????
But because mine were caused by tension, we went the botox route first. It's a total of 11 injections in total every three months. 3 in the forehead in the nerve, two in the temple (and that hurts like a sumbitch) then three on each side of my neck, straight into the muscle.
Result is, the muscle that would clench and clench and clench for days on end (occasionally weeks on end) and send me spiraling into one cluster after another, is unable to do that now. Occasionally it will clench - it's a little tight now, but it's not enough to really knock me down. Biggest side effect is sometimes a droopy eye that lasts for about 3 months - that hasn't happened to me yet.
Some neurologists are starting to use botox as a first line of attack simply beside the side effects are much less invasive than the beta blockers. If treatment doesn't work, then they try the beta blockers, but if it works, then that's awesome. And the best news is, if the neurologist writes a letter on your behalf - usually insurance will cover it. Otherwise it's about $400 ever 3 months.
Might be worth checking with your doctor over if you get a lot of migraines.
Thanks for the info!
He is awesome!!!
They are discovering some great uses for botox, actually. Early studies are showing it may be an excellent blocker of pain when injected into a nerve.
Whatever, it stopped my headaches, and I'm willing to put up with all of the "anti aging" razzing I get from my friends and family over it.
All that from botulinum toxin? who knew? :D well it totally makes sense, because it's a paralyser. the nerve can't trasmit pain if it's frozen, right? So cool - but deadly in high doses, I hear. (I also just read it can cause dry mouth, but in CP patients, drooling is an issue, so that works out just fine!)
Friends and family? Pah, what do they know anyway! :D hee!
I pick up my botox the day before and keep it in the fridge for the night. It looks like a teeny tiny bit of mist that has dried on the bottom of the vial. It's not even liquid. It kinda looks like a drop of sugar water that has dried on the side of a glass.
Then he fills the vial with saline, shakes the hell out of it, and draws it into 11 syringes.
It's quite amazing, actually. And yes, I've heard it is now used on people who excessively sweat.
It's also used on People with MS to control their muscle spasms.
But mostly it's overused by Nicole Kidman to freeze her face.
BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT!!!
She was pretty dreadful in Australia, wasn't she?
but, right you are! So not the point!!! She has a drum skin forehead!
Yeah, I liked the scenery of the movie and the rest of the cast, but her acting was...*shiver*
I tried to send an email earlier - hope things are going well with you. I'm swamped at work and also trying to finish my Snarry Games fic so I haven't had much free time - my LJ inbox is around 120+ pages! I hardly get over here to IJ.
I did get your email and I sat down to write you a lovely long reply, and promptly lost it. I was sooo pissed.
I totally want to chat to you. I'm home tomorrow - I'll try to remember to log into Gchat so if you get a few moments we can parley.
Love your avatar!!!
