Oh, no idea really. But I'm always surprised by how ordinary and normal people look. It just gives me this little thrill to think that all these people who look like Girl Scout leaders and PTA moms write gay porn in their spare time. ;D Of course most are just ordinary PTA moms, but I always wonder what other people would think if they knew.
As for people looking like their avatar, that reminds me of one of my favorite stories. I printed up a bunch of shirts for fandom people with their default icon on the front and had mine done at the same time. I happened to mention to the woman that everyone says that I don't look they way they thought I would. And she said that perhaps if I put the glasses on my avatar more people would recognize me. I later realized she thought that the picture of Snape on my icon was supposed to be ME! *snort* I decided to be flattered since Snape is oh-so-hawt. ;D
