And in the dream sequence his mentor explains to the boy wizard how he can defeat the powers of evil.
Radcliffe said he re-read JK Rowling's book in preparation for the start of filming and made the surprising discovery that Harry is naked during the scene.
He said: 'At first, I thought I had pants on. Apparently not.'
And the actor confessed he was willing to play the part nude.
With bravado, he said: 'Bah, I've sort of done that. It's all old hat now, really.'
